Boudoir Shoot Preparation — 10 Tips for Your Perfect Photoshoot in Vienna
The right preparation makes all the difference. Learn how to optimally prepare for your boudoir photoshoot in Vienna — from outfit selection to perfect timing.
Why preparation makes the difference
A boudoir shoot in Vienna doesn't start in the studio. It starts weeks before — with the right preparation. After more than 12 years as a boudoir photographer in Vienna, I know this: The most relaxed clients are the ones who prepared well.
Not because everything has to be perfect. But because preparation gives you confidence. You know what to expect. You've thought it through. And that shows in the photos.
In this article, I share the 10 tips I give every client before their boudoir photoshoot in Vienna.
Tips 1–3: The weeks before
Book your shoot at least two to three weeks in advance. This gives you enough time to choose outfits and mentally prepare.
Pick two to three outfits you feel comfortable in. Not the ones you look best in — the ones you feel good in. That's an important difference. Lingerie, a men's shirt, an elegant dress — anything goes. More outfit ideas in my article about styling tips for your boudoir shoot.
Take care of your skin in the week before the shoot. Moisturizer, plenty of water. No new treatments right before — no peeling, no tanning. Your skin should glow naturally.
The right preparation transforms nervousness into anticipation.
Tips 4–6: The last few days
A hairdresser visit one to two days before is ideal. Freshly cut hair and a groomed manicure complete your look. Nothing elaborate — just well-kept.
Wear loose clothing on the day of the shoot. Tight bra straps and sock bands leave marks on the skin that stay visible for hours. Best to wear a loose dress or joggers.
Sleep well the night before. I know, easier said than done. But good sleep shows immediately — in your eyes, in your skin, in your radiance.
Tips 7–8: On the day
Eat light before the shoot. Not too much, but don't come hungry either. Feeling bloated is uncomfortable in front of the camera, but so is hunger. A light breakfast or lunch is perfect.
Create a playlist with your favorite music. This is one of my most important tips. Music changes the atmosphere completely. When your favorite song plays, you forget the camera. And that's exactly when the best photos happen.
Tips 9–10: Inspiration and arrival
Collect images you like beforehand. Pinterest, Instagram — save everything that appeals to you. These images help me understand what mood you're going for. We'll discuss them together before the shoot.
Plan enough time for your journey. Arrive relaxed at the studio, not rushed. I recommend being ten minutes early. We'll have a coffee, chat briefly, and then we start — no stress, no pressure.
What if I'm still nervous?
Nervousness is completely normal. Almost every client is nervous before their first shoot. It's part of the experience. And I'll tell you: after the first five minutes in front of the camera, it fades.
My job as a boudoir photographer in Vienna isn't just to take good photos. My job is to make you feel comfortable. I guide you through every pose. I tell you where to put your hands, where to look. You don't need any experience — just show up.
If you follow these 10 tips, your boudoir photoshoot in Vienna will be an experience you'll remember fondly. Book your session now — I look forward to meeting you.
