A day in my studio

Many ask me: what does a typical day as a boudoir photographer in Vienna actually look like? The answer: no two days are the same. And that's exactly what I love about it.

But there's a common thread. An atmosphere that runs through every shoot. A way of working that relaxes my clients and brings the images to life.

Before the client arrives

My day starts hours before the shoot. Setting up the studio. Positioning lights, preparing backgrounds, selecting music.

Every shoot has its own playlist. Some clients send me their favorite songs in advance. Others leave the choice to me. Either way, the music is playing before the client opens the door.

Then the final check: temperature comfortable? Water and coffee ready? Mirror clean? Clothes hangers free? These small details make the difference.

The atmosphere makes the image. Not the camera.

The first 30 minutes

The most important half hour is the one before the camera comes out. We have coffee. We talk. About everything and nothing. About the journey here, the nervousness, the outfits in the suitcase.

I show the studio. Here's the changing area. Here hang the clothes. Here's where you'll stand later. Transparency removes fear. When you know what's coming, you can let go.

Only when I notice you've arrived — arrived internally — do I pick up the camera.

During the shoot

I talk a lot. That surprises most people. But silence in front of the camera is uncomfortable. So I tell you exactly what I see. "Just like that. That look is perfect. Now tilt your head slightly left."

I show you images on the display in between. Not all of them — but enough so you can see: it's working. You look good. The proof right before your eyes.

Breaks are planned in. Drink water, breathe, change outfits. Nobody has to power through two hours. The shoot should feel like a good afternoon, not a marathon.

What happens after the shoot

The client leaves. And I sit down at the computer. That same evening, I go through the images. Not to edit — to sort.

Which images tell a story? Which ones captured that one moment? This selection is the first creative step after the shoot.

Then comes the editing. Color correction, light, skin tones. No filter, no excessive retouching. I want you to recognize yourself. Just in the best light.

Why I do this

After 12 years as a nude art and boudoir photographer in Vienna, I could do many other things. But nothing gives me what this work gives.

The moment when a client opens her gallery and quietly says "Wow." The message three months later: "The photos hang in my bedroom." The knowledge that I helped someone see themselves differently. You can see some of these moments in my portfolio.
